Opportunity Summary 

When interning with Girls Inc. of the Island City, students will benefit from hands on experience in youth development in a non-traditional setting, specifically with girls ages 6-18. They will also benefit from our Girls Inc. trained staff for extra support in their day to day responsibilities and most importantly to be an advocate for girls and women .

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end students will have learned, classroom management, how to best deal with behavioral challenges from participants, curriculum building and mentorship skills.

Opportunity Training 

2 hours training to go over daily responsibilities, safety/health (including COVID-19 procedures) guidelines and how to best deal with behavioral needs from our participants

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

All staff and interns must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth area entirely during their shift and follow COVID-19 and other safety guidelines put in place by the organization.
