Inclusive best practices for service of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the principles of person-centered approaches paired with the dignity of risk and importance of the promotion of self-advocacy within a disability rights and justice framework.
All candidates will be offered standard regular trainings provided to typical Ala Costa employees including but not limited to, Mandated Reporting, First Aid/CPR, Covid Safety protocols, Informed Decision Making, Disability Rights and Justice, Person Centered Thinking, Self-Advocacy, Dignity of Risk, etc. Training will be individually catered to individuals based on interest, intent, purpose of service, and state mandated or requirements under the primary regulatory responsibilities of the organization.
Ala Costa Centers requires all employees, volunteers, and contractors to be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
The application process will also require a Livescan (Fingerprint) Clearance with DOJ/FBI, California Child Abuse Index, Formal Medical Review- i.e. Physical Examination, and an interview with Program Leadership.
