Opportunity Summary 

600 hour recreation therapy internship under supervision of CTRS. Will learn the fundamentals of community recreation in an independent retirement community.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Plan, facilitate, and evaluate (through SOAP notes) at least two weekly programs for a minimum of 10 weeks Assist in conducting and evaluating of leisure interest assessments Assist in planning and leading special events Assist in RT related administrative duties

Opportunity Training 

Training in these responsibilities are expected to be developed during recreation therapy coursework prior to beginning role. Assistance and supervision will be provided by supervisor.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Will be occasionally working with kitchen items (such as knives, stoves, etc.) during events and handling garden supplies during gardening programs.
