Opportunity Summary 

The local crisis line and 988 at CSS are only possible through the work of our dedicated volunteers. By giving a few hours each week, you can make a difference for someone in need. Our volunteers enjoy working on a team and are part of an engaged, diverse, and caring community. Most importantly, volunteers can take pride in providing an essential service to the community and making a difference in other people’s lives.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned about crisis de-escalation, establishing rapport, community supports, and suicide prevention.

Opportunity Training 

We provide a three month long training program that includes classes, online learning, and supervised training on our crisis line and text line.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

We have a locked parking lot, surveillance cameras, and panic buttons. We have active shooter training as well as building safety training.
