Triple Play Coach At — Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastside
The Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside (BGCC) is a multi-faceted organization serving Elementary, middle and high school youth during out-of-school time. We offer a school-based program at Cunha Intermediate School, a drop-in center for Teens, manage the Cunha After School Athletics programs, partner to support many Coastside sports program and manage sports facilities in partnership with Cabrillo Unified School District. Our Club offers dynamic programs including academic support, leadership development, sports and recreation for members ages 6-18. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, and belonging.
● Experience working with young people. ● Knowledge of the Coastside community and especially the Cabrillo Unified school system ● Understanding of the developmental needs of young people. ● Strong oral communication skills. ● Ability to problem-solve during day-to-day Club activities. ● Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth ● Ability to engage respectfully with various groups including youth, public, parents, co-workers. ● Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline issues.
The Boys & Girls Club will provide mentoring from day one and teach the students how to develop a lesson plan and how to work with school age youth. We have years of experience training volunteers, interns and staff members.
All interns will read over our safety policies and will receive on-line safety training when it comes to being a mandated reporter at a school site.
