Volunteer Mentor, Big Brothers Big SistersAt — Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area
Who we serve: We serve and support children and youth 6-18 across all nine greater Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano & Sonoma). The vast majority of our participants are low-income, most live in a household headed by a single parent, and 30% are missing parent(s) due to incarceration. Why Volunteer with BBBSBA: Supporting youth holistically through 1:1 mentorship is a critical and essential service to children and families. Our model has been touted by the World Bank as one of the best practices for re-engaging youth in education and by the CDC for our role in preventing and buffering against Adverse Childhood Experiences.
