Opportunity Summary 

Tia will work alongside me at the Ira Jinkins Recreation Center and be provided with the skills and knowledge to be a successful Recreation Center Director. She will supervise staff, basic facility operations, and facility management duties. She’ll be given multiple opportunities to lead and make meaningful decisions.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

-Gain experience in recreation facility management; Perform daily facility safety checks following a printed checklist, complete training on reporting facility maintenance issues. -Gain additional knowledge of staff management; Hands-on staff management training (online training may be available through Neogov as well -Gain community engagement skills; Customer service phone calls, regularly interacting with patrons and community leaders, establishing relationships in the community, and providing information regarding community services available. -To gain rec facility equipment management skills; Oversee patron use of recreational equipment - Prepare and distribute promotional materials for program offerings; Review previously used marketing materials and update/recreate them for distribution in the community

Opportunity Training
