Intern or FellowAt — Office of Contra Costa County Supervisor Ken Carlson
If you are interested in making a difference in your community and want to learn more about how government works, then this may be the internship you are looking for.
Gain a deeper knowledge of county government and how the Board of Supervisors' decisions impact the entire County. Gain professional experience and learn how to work with an elected official. How to collect data, create reports, and interpret information. Improve constituent services, and develop leadership skills such as networking and public speaking.
It all depends on where the student is. We are happy to meet them where they are and provide proper training by instruction or by shadowing staff.
We typically do not have any safety concerns. Except for very distressed constituents from time to time, over the phone.
Those interested could email Alejandra Sanchez, District Rep., at Alejandra.Sanchez@bos.cccounty.us to obtain an internship overview and to set up interviews.
