Opportunity Summary 

Project Rebound is looking for passionate students to join our team! We’re offering positions in Outreach as well as more Administrative work, where you’ll help empower formerly incarcerated students to succeed in college. You’ll gain hands-on experience in advocacy, event planning, and nonprofit management – all while making a difference in your community. It’s a great way to build your skills and your resume!

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Communication and Advocacy Skills: Develop effective communication techniques to engage diverse audiences, including students, faculty, and community partners, about Project Rebound’s mission and resources. Community Engagement: Gain experience in organizing and executing outreach events, enhancing public speaking and networking abilities. Cultural Competency: Increase understanding of the challenges faced by justice-involved individuals and learn to advocate for social justice and educational equity. Leadership and Initiative: Build leadership skills by taking the initiative in outreach strategies and collaborating with team members to achieve program goals. Professional Communication: Enhance written and verbal communication skills by interacting with stakeholders, drafting emails, and preparing program documents. Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Develop problem-solving skills by managing day-to-day administrative tasks and responding to changing program needs.

Opportunity Training 

1. Orientation and Program Overview: All interns will participate in an initial orientation to learn about Project Rebound’s mission, history, and the unique challenges faced by justice-involved students. This training will provide context for their role and the impact they can make. 2. Social Justice and Cultural Competency Training: Interns will receive training on social justice issues, cultural competency, and working with justice-impacted individuals to ensure they approach their work with empathy, understanding, and respect. 3. Skill Development Workshops: Workshops on public speaking, community engagement, and effective communication strategies. Training on event planning, social media outreach, and networking techniques will also be provided.
