Utilize data analysis techniques to evaluate testing results, monitor trends, and support decision-making processes within the Quality Control (QC) department. Employ tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and SharePoint to manage and report on laboratory data, while developing skills in data extraction, cleaning, and interpretation. Create meaningful data visualizations to communicate insights from lab-based and operational datasets, using Excel and other available platforms. Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts, scientists, and area managers to support continuous improvement projects within the QC framework.
Students will receive comprehensive training designed to equip them with the technical and professional skills necessary to succeed in a regulated biopharmaceutical quality control environment. This includes hands-on instruction in laboratory safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) relevant to analytical and microbiological testing. Interns will be guided by experienced subject matter experts and area managers who will provide mentorship and oversight throughout their projects. Training will also cover data handling techniques such as data extraction, analysis, and visualization using tools like Excel and SharePoint. Additionally, interns will develop soft skills through collaborative team interactions, project planning sessions, and regular progress reporting, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to both laboratory tasks and data-driven initiatives.
All activities must comply with Lonza’s safety, health, and environmental regulations, and interns will be expected to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times. Emergency response protocols, including spill response and evacuation procedures, will be clearly communicated during orientation and reinforced throughout the internship.
