The Classroom and PTO Support Coordinator will play an important role in fostering strong connections between teachers, families, and the school community. This position provides hands-on support in the classroom by assisting teachers with daily instructional needs, organizing materials, and supporting student learning. In addition, the coordinator will work closely with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to help plan events, assist with communications, and encourage family engagement. This opportunity is ideal for a CSU student interested in education, community outreach, or leadership development, while gaining valuable experience in a school setting.

Classroom Support Skills – Guidance on assisting teachers with instructional materials, student engagement, and classroom management strategies. Communication & Collaboration – Training in effective communication with teachers, staff, families, and PTO members. Event & Project Support – Hands-on training in organizing, promoting, and supporting school and PTO events. Family Engagement Practices – Best practices for creating welcoming environments that encourage family participation.
Child Safety & Supervision – Students must always follow school rules regarding student interactions, including maintaining appropriate boundaries and never being alone with a child. Emergency Procedures – Training on school emergency protocols (fire drills, lockdowns, medical emergencies) and knowing where exits and first aid supplies are located. Event Safety – Following PTO event guidelines for crowd management, equipment use, and supervision of student activities.
