Student InternAt — Alameda County Health, Public Health Department

Opportunity Summary 

We are pleased to offer Cal State East Bay students the opportunity to participate in a hands-on experiential learning placements within Alameda County (Alameda County Health, Public Health Department). These experiences are designed for students who are passionate about equity, health and community well-being, and are interested in exploring careers in public service. Students will have the opportunity to engage in and support civic initiatives and community outreach efforts that impact diverse populations. Tasks may include, yet are not limited to, supporting or assisting with events, programs, or community projects aimed at improving public health outcomes. Additional opportunities may include developing health education materials, participating in data collection and analysis, supporting care coordination efforts, attending community meetings, assisting with outreach campaigns, shadowing public health professionals, and contributing to evaluation and quality improvement projects. These placements are an excellent opportunity for students to apply classroom learning to real-world public health work and gain meaningful professional experience in a supportive environment.

Students will be provided information on dress codes as part of orientation. Students will be required to obtain and wear ID badges provided by Alameda County Public Health as part of onboarding.
