The Data Analyst Intern supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to inform decision-making and measure program impact. The intern works with real datasets to clean and organize information, create reports and dashboards, and translate findings into clear insights, gaining hands-on experience in applied data analysis within a mission-driven organization.

Opportunity Training 

Students will receive a structured, hands-on onboarding designed to build both technical and practical skills needed for the role. Training will include:

Orientation & data context: Overview of the organization’s mission, programs, and how data is used to support decision-making and impact measurement.

Tools & systems training: Guided instruction in the primary tools used for analysis and reporting (e.g., spreadsheets, dashboards, databases, and relevant analytics platforms).

Data fundamentals: Training on data cleaning, validation, organization, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Applied analysis: Step-by-step walkthroughs of real projects, including defining questions, selecting metrics, analyzing trends, and translating findings into clear insights.

Reporting & communication: Best practices for creating reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to different audiences.

Ongoing mentorship: Regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and shadowing opportunities with experienced staff to reinforce learning and support growth.

Training will be progressive, allowing students to take on increasing responsibility as their skills and confidence develop.
