Opportunity Summary 

The Student Public Health Intern will support a Centering Pregnancy adaptation project focused on improving accessibility and cultural relevance for Spanish-speaking participants. The intern’s primary responsibility will be preparing and organizing the adapted guide’s content and layout, ensuring materials are clear, culturally appropriate, and user-friendly for both participants and facilitators. This role offers hands-on experience in maternal and child health, health equity, and community-informed program adaptation.

Core Responsibilities

· Prepare, format, and organize the adapted Centering Pregnancy guide content for Spanish-speaking participants.

· Support layout development of the adapted guide, including structuring sections, applying consistent formatting, and incorporating visual elements as appropriate.

· Assist with adapting existing English-language materials into culturally and linguistically appropriate Spanish-language content (in collaboration with bilingual staff or translators, as applicable).

· Review materials for clarity, readability, and alignment with program goals and Centering Pregnancy principles.

· Incorporate feedback from project staff, community partners, and subject matter experts into revised guide drafts.

· Maintain version control and organize files for guide drafts and supporting materials.

· Attend project meetings and provide progress updates on assigned tasks.

· Support additional project-related tasks as needed (e.g., preparing handouts, organizing reference materials, or summarizing feedback).

Opportunity Training 

The ACPHD student intern will receive training and guidance to support their role in the Centering Pregnancy adaptation project, with a focus on enhancing accessibility and cultural relevance for Spanish‑speaking participants. Training will include instruction on reviewing, organizing, and preparing adapted content and layout materials, as well as applying principles of cultural appropriateness, health equity, and user‑centered design. Through ongoing supervision and hands-on involvement, the intern will build practical skills in maternal and child health and community-informed program adaptation.

How will you provide ongoing support and supervision to students?

The student intern will receive ongoing support from their supervisor through regular check-ins, guidance on assigned tasks, and timely feedback to promote learning and skill development. The supervisor will remain accessible for questions, provide clarification as needed, and ensure the intern feels supported in navigating their responsibilities. Students will also engage with Workforce Development team who supports with secondary supervision and professional development.
