RN Student Intern for Summer Work Study Program At — Kaiser Permanente

Opportunity Summary 

This is a summer work study program that is for senior-level BSN students. They are hired into a part-time, temporary position for a paid, 10-week work study program. The RN student intern must work under the supervision of a licensed RN at all times. The position for this student intern is in Medical Surgical Clinical Education, learning the role of the RN as a clinical educator, and how it ties into the care delivered at the bedside. The student intern may attend various committees, skills days, and nursing councils, and may conduct various clinical education assessments and/or projects. The student intern may also work one shift in a clinical department, where they may have an opportunity to practice skills that have been validated as competent by their school faculty, so long as it is under the direct supervision of a licensed RN. This opportunity is based on manager approval and the availability of a licensed RN to supervise them for the shift.

Opportunity Training 

Student interns may practice skills that their faculty have validated as competent. They must bring with them a skills competency checklist with these skills to their hiring manager. They may practice these skills only under the supervision of a licensed RN. The student intern in Clinical Education may conduct activities assigned by their manager, under their supervision and guidance.
