Opportunity Summary 

The Community Development YMCA provides comprehensive programing that is hands-on and engages community members of various skill levels, languages and abilities. We are a non-traditional YMCA, in the sense we provide free social services to meet the diverse needs of the communities we service. Our staff are as diverse as the communities we serve.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have a better understanding of how to work with diverse populations and develop professional skills to engage populations of color.

Opportunity Training 

Students will receive comprehensive trainings for the specific task they will be assigned to and they will have the opportunity to earn a Mental Health 1st Aid responder certification for working with youth and adults.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Our YMCA follows: LB/LA Co Health Department guidelines. All staff and youth are required to wear mask inside at all times and vaccines are required. If someone is feeling sick or has a fever - they are not allowed to return until they have a negative test result.
