YMCA of Greater Long Beach Community Development
The mission of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach is to welcome people of all ages, ethnic groups and affiliations to unite in a common effort to promote Youth Development, Healthy Lifestyles and Social Responsibility. The Community Development YMCA's mission is to outreach to the lowest income communities in Long Beach with the highest quality most cutting edge programs designed to move our families out of poverty.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in program specific orientation prior to engaging with that special population.
Our teen summer and year-round after school program - the Youth Institute.All YMCA youth & staff have completed media release forms. All CSULB students must complete YMCA Volunteer paperwork - if they are going to provide in-person services "on-site" at the YMCA. All CSULB students - must follow COVID safety protocols • wellness checks - temp checks, face mask worn at all times • touch-less check/sign-in - using QR code system. • social distancing at all times.The Community Development YMCA, will have YMCA program staff supervising all planned activities and events.
We've set our limited to only 8 students per semester who can participate with us.
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Health Check/Screening (e.g. temperature screening, COVID-19 test)
- Must be 18 or older
- Vaccinations
Monday thru Friday - 9am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday - by appointments
