Opportunity Summary 

Long Beach Gray Panthers (LBGP) educate and advocate for older adults. A component of our advocacy is writing position papers on a variety of topics. This entails researching topics in Ageism, Elections, Voting Outreach, Civil Rights, Housing, Health Issues, Environmental Issues, Social Security, Medicare, Transportation, and other topics affecting older adults (50+). There may be opportunities to attend meetings with City Council members and other legislative representatives or community partner meetings on these topics. LBGP partners with over 40 community agencies to accomplish our education and advocacy work.

Additional Instructions/Information

Involves doing a deep dive into a specific topic. We have a grant for voter outreach efforts so there may be small stipends for that work. Bilingual skills a plus for the voter outreach.
