The Bob Murphy Access Center (BMAC) at CSU Long Beach’s mission is to assist over 2,700 students with disabilities at CSU Long Beach to achieve their educational degrees and prepare them to be career ready after graduation. Since our beginning in 1973, BMAC has supported over 12,553 students in graduating from CSU Long Beach.

FOUNDING THE BOSTON CONGRESS OF PUBLIC HEALTH

The Boston Congress of Public Health (BCPH) is a dynamic 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that seeks to democratize public health through the lens of social justice.

BCPH realizes this mission through its Studio and Academy, which transcend the traditional boundaries of academia and medicine, and support the next generation of public health thought leaders committed to social justice.

Established in August 2021 by Co-CEOs Dr. Candice Carpenter and Dr. Circe Gray Le Compte, BCPH’s mission, vision, and activities were crystalized in Fall 2021 by a cohort of public health advocates deeply passionate about public health, social justice, and health equity. Representing Harvard and Oxford alumni, physicians, scientists, researchers, consultants, and practitioners of public health, BCPH Founders included Penny Sun, Simon Morgan, Dr. Hannah Nazri, Dr. Isioma Okolo, Dr. Jessica Huang, Dr. Monty Ghosh, Kim Harmon, Brian Shim, and Alice Colescu.

BCPH facilitates educational and policy trainings, television series, and a Fellowship program. It is also the publisher of HPHR Journal (formerly Harvard Public Health Review), a peer reviewed academic journal that promotes evidence-based discourse around health equity led underrepresented voices in public health.

Our Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with after-school programs in Carson, Gardena, and South Los Angeles serving nearly 700 elementary, middle, and high school youth each day. We cultivate their ability to dream, discover and develop into lifelong learners.
