St. Luke's/ San Lucas Episcopal Church
Organization Description
St. Luke's is an inclusive, multicultural community pursuing spiritual and social transformation.
Health & Safety
Additional requirements and/or considerations We are a downtown church with significant encampments of unhoused people in oiur neighborhood, and sometimes on our property.
Working with those who are unhoused, working with people with criminal records, some history of violent behavior, and physical and mental disabilities is common.
Students would need to be comfortable working in the context of a downtown Long Beach neighborhood. When working in the neighborhood, the student would not work alone.
Each student would be assigned a trained supervisor depending on the area of ministry in which they choose to commit their time and talent.
