Organization Description

The YSC is a non-profit organization that was established in 1962, which is dedicated to improving math and science education. The mission of the YSC is to inform, instruct, and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the excitement of science and technology through programs that promote learning through interaction.

Program Information

CSULB students will be assisting Youth Science Center facilitators facilitate hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes to kids grades K-8 in a class room setting at nearby schools. They will assist facilitators with set up of experiments or activities, they will assist students with the experiment or activity, and finally, they will assist with clean-up after the class is done. CSULB students of any educational background are encouraged to participate, so long as they have a passion for educating and helping students see the benefits of STEM in their every day activities and life.

All students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, are open and welcome to participate.
