Organization Description

Michelson Found Animals is a nonprofit supporting pet owners and animal welfare organizations through our mission to Save Pets & Enrich Lives. After more than a decade of service to animals, we continue to grow as we find new and innovative ways to help pets and the people who care for them. Michelson Found Animals Adopt & Shop offers two distinct locations in Culver City and Lakewood, providing pet adoptions, supplies, grooming and dog daycare (Culver City), with all proceeds going back to the organization. All of our pets are rescued from local shelters, which supports our goal to help reduce animal euthanasia and offers our customers a way to be part of our mission. Join us in making a difference for pets and pet owners!

Program Information

Pet Care Providers help us care for our adoptables through tasks such as dog walking, cat condo cleaning, feeding, and human-interaction enrichment. Volunteering begins with an application, after which an online orientation is completed and afterward a 2-hour in-person training session. From there on, volunteers can schedule their shifts. All volunteers begin as Pet Care Providers, but other opportunities include becoming an Adoption Counselor, who helps in adopting out our pets, or a Daytripper, who takes our dogs out for trips to the park.

All students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, are open and welcome to participate.

  • Sat — 8-11am, 10:45am-2pm, 1:45-4pm, 3:45-7pm, 6:45-8:30pm
  • Sun — 9am-12pm, 11:45am-2pm, 1:45-5pm, 4:45-7:30pm
