- Provide direct care and supervision of the children.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment in a nurturing manner.
- Maintain daily documentation- sign in sheet, changing and eating logs, daily progress notes
- Maintain client charts; file all progress notes, and important client specific documentation-immunizations, medical reports, school reports, court documents, and other relevant client documents.
- Conduct and maintain ASQs (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) for assigned caseload
- Provide appropriate referrals and linkages, and follow up
- Promote verbal communication to develop the children's social skills and comprehension of the subject matter.
- Foster cooperative social behavior through games to assist children in forming relationships with other children.
- Review individual group activities with Child Development Supervisor to stimulate learning according to the age of the children.
- Provide developmentally appropriate activities center wide.
- Participation in case conferences as required.
- Facilitate individual and group sessions with caregivers, social worker, and other identified supports.
Interning as a Navigator at SHIELDS administration office: Located at 11601 S. Western ave. Los Angeles 90047
- Clerical support for the program staff including receptionist duties.
- Receive and route all incoming telephone calls.
- Provide linkage and referrals to clients and their families in accordance with appropriate level of service.
- Coordinate support services, including but not limited to linking clients to auxiliary services and assisting clients and their families with accessing appropriate resources.
- Coordinate and maintain appropriate service provision with referral source, i.e. Department of Children and Family Services or Community Agencies.
- Enter program data in electronic database including updated community resources, client information, client contact, and generate reports.
- Provide monthly reports to the program manager.
- Maintain positive working relationships with local linkage and referral agencies.
- Maintain a working knowledge of existing community programs and resources, the services provided and eligibility requirements.
- Maintain caseload documentation in compliance with all agency policies and procedures as well as federal, state, county and local regulations.
