Team Kids is a nonprofit organization with a big mission:
‘To empower kids to change the world.’ We are committed to creating a dual paradigm shift; in the way young people perceive themselves as capable, powerful changemakers, and in how adults view and treat youth as community partners.
Our youth leadership programs are designed to build empathy and self efficacy, while strengthening children’s connections to their peers, school, community, and caring community mentors.
Team Kids is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all interns. Before participating in programs, interns receive training on youth engagement, appropriate professional boundaries, emergency procedures, and organizational policies. Interns are always supervised by Team Kids staff while on school campuses and are never left alone with students. Programs are conducted in partnership with school personnel and follow all school and district safety protocols. Interns are encouraged to communicate any safety concerns immediately, and staff provide ongoing guidance to ensure a safe experience for both interns and students.
