Organization Description

Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental stewardship, and community health. By using the full transformative potential of school gardens as teaching sites, we nurture a healthy and mindful generation of children who care for their bodies, their communities, and the earth.

Health & Safety

Garden School Foundation works with Title I elementary schools and instructs students in all grades PK-6, approximately ages 4-12. Within each school we work with special education students who may have intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Roles with Garden School Foundation take place primarily outdoors and include physical work such as standing, squatting, lifting, pushing wheelbarrows, and using garden tools.

Students will work one on one with site supervisors, no more than 3 students onsite at one time.

  • Must be 18 or older
