Opportunity Summary 

GetVirtual is one of the programs offered by CSU Monterey Bay's Institute for Innovation & Economic Development (iiED). In response to the devastating economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, the iiED is offering this GetVirtual project to assist community-based businesses get “virtual” by connecting them to student volunteers and knowledgeable mentors. The purpose is to help these small community businesses get the tools they need to adapt to the virtual landscape to survive during COVID-19. Students will work on teams with mentors to provide: Website development; E-Commerce; Online marketing; and general assistance to help these businesses maintain and nurture their online platform. These services use basic off-the-shelf software and are provided free to these small local businesses. Students receive training and mentorship so they can provide these needed services. All services are provided remotely.
