Welcome Center HostAt — Salinas Valley Tourism and Visitor Bureau (SVTVB)

Opportunity Summary 

This opportunity is best suited to a student who is interested in the following areas:

  • Heritage tourism
  • museum studies
  • economic development

Students will be learning critical information on building opportunities for expanding heritage tourism programs. They will have an opportunity to work with our partner organizations, U.C. Berkeley and the National Parks Foundation to develop these programs. They will assist the Executive Director as host assistants in providing information to visiting tourists and to be an assistant when touring school visits are at the Center.

As the exhibits are expanded in the museum on site, students may have an opportunity to research exhibit materials and place them in the museum.

Opportunity Training 

Professional members of the Board of the SVTVB and the Executive Director will work along side the students to provide hands on training at all times.  A Board or Executive Director will be on site to answer questions and direct the work efforts.
