FLA Intern (College Corp Only Opportunity)At — Future Leaders of America
Future Leaders of America (FLA) provides Fellows with year-round, hands-on experience in youth development, community engagement, and program planning. Interns contribute to key programs while building leadership, communication, and professional skills. Fellows help plan and implement two annual Youth Leadership Camps and two university seminars. They also participate in bi-weekly youth-led meetings, gaining experience facilitating discussions, leading team-building activities, and supporting youth leadership development. Additionally, interns assist with planning and outreach for monthly FLA Facilitator Trainings, helping expand participation in trainings and community events. Through ongoing engagement with youth and families, they strengthen mentorship and relationship-building skills. Beyond these programs, Fellows support community initiatives such as monthly fresh food distributions and a community garden project in partnership with Lideres Campesinas and Alianza Campesina. These efforts promote food access and healthy living while giving interns meaningful opportunities to serve and connect with their communities.
We will be doing an onboarding training the first week and provide training opportunities before each main responsibility takes place.
Weekly check ins with other Fellows we have hosted has helped us ensure that communication is clear and consistent and that the Fellow feels fully prepared.
