Community Action Board's mission is to partner with the community to eliminate poverty and create social change through advocacy and essential services. We are glad that you are here to learn more about who we are and we look forward to partnering with you as we further our mission. The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Inc. (CAB) is celebrating over 50 years of Community Action! CAB operates 6 programs assisting over 8,000 low-income people with emergency, sustaining/self-sufficiency services and serves an additional 7,000+ with requests for information and referrals. Over three quarters of CAB’s clients have family incomes of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and at least a quarter of clients have less than 150% of the Guidelines.

Since 1968, Sun Street Centers has been providing the most comprehensive and effective services for education, prevention and recovery of alcohol addiction and drug abuse. Relying on a proven social model developed by our founders, Martin and Nancy Dodd, as well as the compassion and experience of our staff, we welcome all individuals and families to hope, heal, share and thrive with a drug-free and alcohol-free lifestyle.

Hope Services gives students the opportunity to create and implement on-site activities, which would include educational, social and recreational activities for individuals with developmental disabilities.  And to participate in activities within the community-at-large as an instrumental part of our Community Integration...

We provide services to children and adults year round, so there are always opportunities to assist with riding and ground work sessions. Horse care is daily/year round. This includes grooming, exercising, feeding. Students will not be asked to clean stalls.

Impact Launch is a collective of social impact professionals committed to supporting individuals, teams and collaboratives to work more effectively for equitable and sustainable outcomes on issues ranging from homelessness and economic opportunity to criminal justice reform and more. 

Our work is based on Dr. Monica Sharma’s social change framework, Radical Transformational Leadership (RTL). RTL provides a practical framework to generate equitable and enduring results using a unique response model based on extensive application world-wide in many sectors, themes and topics –the conscious full-spectrum response model. This model is designed for sourcing our inner capacities and wisdom to generate change that embodies universal values of dignity, compassion and fairness, and simultaneously transform unworkable systems and norms in order to solve problems.
