Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay (HSP) (Formerly RON, Return of the Natives)

Organization Description

Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay (Formerly known as Return of the Natives Restoration Education Project, RON) is a community and school based environmental education program dedicated to involving students (Kindergarten through University) and the community in native habitat restoration. Our mission is to bring nature closer to people, and people closer to nature through hands-on experiences in community based habitat restoration and environmental education.

The Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay is the education and outreach branch of The Watershed Institute at CSUMB. Our environmental goal is to protect the waters of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary through restoration of the waterways and the lands by draining into the bay. We hope to bring together people in nature through restoration and education projects in the watersheds of Monterey County, from the Peninsula to North Monterey and from Salinas to San Ardo.
