The Monterey County Military Veterans Affairs Office (MVAO) assists veterans and their dependents by advocating and filing claims for benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Benefits Administration (VBA) Healthcare Administration (VHA) and Cemetery Administration (VCA) along with California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) benefits to include the California college tuition fee waivers, admission assistance to the Veterans Homes of CA Program (VHC) and Incarcerated Veterans Community Outreach Programs. The MVAO operates offices in both Monterey and San Benito Counties. Transitional assistance is also provided to both active duty and reserve service members along with their dependents at the Defense Language Institute (DLI), Presidio of Monterey, Naval Post Graduate School and local Reserve and National Guard Centers. Satellite offices in Salinas and Hollister.

Monterey County Rape Crisis Center

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to advocate for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, to prevent sexual violence in our community through education, and to provide ongoing support and healing to survivors of sexual assault.
Founded in 1972, as the Monterey Rape Crisis Center, the center is governed by a board of directors and serves the community with 20 full time staff and over 35 volunteers. In 2007, we became the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center and now serve not only the Monterey Peninsula but all of the communities of Monterey County.
We are sensitive to the diversity of our community with regard to gender, race, color, ethnicity, language, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation and people with disabilities.

Monterey County Youth Center

The Probation Department's Youth Center is a low-security, coeducational, residential treatment facility located in East Salinas. It is one of only a few secured juvenile treatment centers in the state.
The Youth Center is comprised of three dormitories with a total capacity of 85 residents. Probation staff, Behavioral Health therapists and teachers from the County Office of Education work cooperatively and collaboratively with outside providers in a team approach that works with residents and their parents and/or guardians to understand and address the causation of the residents' delinquent behavior, gang involvement, or drug and alcohol addictions.
The Youth Center's therapeutic environment is designed to work to help residents develop insight into their personal situations, to instill impulse control by improving personal coping mechanisms, and to encourage pro-social attitudes and behaviors.
