Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center
Walnut Avenue Women’s Center is a strength-based family resource center that has been serving the Santa Cruz community for over 80 years. The Walnut Avenue Women’s Center mission is to provide support and services so that women, children and families have the opportunities and the skills to thrive. Our family resource center includes the following four core programs: Early Childhood Education Center, Services for Survivors of Domestic Violence, Services for Children & Youth, and Family Support Services.
By state law, several programs require the successful completion of the advocacy certification training, which is 40+ hours and offered twice a year beginning in April and October. More information on the training is available on our website at wafwc.org/training. Please contact Marjorie Coffey at mcoffey@wafwc.org to discuss scheduling and which programs require the training.
All of our volunteering programs require passing a background check. Having a criminal record is not a dealbreaker: please speak with the coordinator for more details and to address any concerns you may have.
