Program Information

The Emergency Services Planning Internship at the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services will require interns to help with planning and emergency preparedness projects. Some duties will be within public information, exercise design and development and technology management. OES may occasionally need interns’ assistance with daily operations, such as answering phones, communicating through writing, putting together reports and other documents, assisting with research and writing, and present at events and meetings. You will also have various other duties, including photocopying documents and filing.

Projects
 Assist in the planning, development and promotion of emergency services operations, plans and programs;
 Assist in the development of long range strategic planning efforts with a variety of public/private partners;
 Assist in the development and implementation of emergency contingency plans, protocols, and standard operating procedures to meet established goals including, and in response to, identified natural and technological hazards
 Assist in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of policies, plans and procedures for monitoring and evaluating EOC capabilities during emergencies and disasters.
