Legal Services for Seniors

Organization Description

Legal Services for Seniors (LSS) is a nonprofit law firm that provides no cost legal representation by licensed staff attorneys and legal advocates to Monterey County seniors 60 years of age and above with an emphasis on serving those who are socially and/or economically at risk. here is no income limitations, but we give preference to those in the greatest social and economic need.

Since 1985, LSS has helped more than 87,000 Monterey County seniors with legal issues such as landlord-tenant conflict, Medicare insurance mix-ups, Social Security mistakes, consumer fraud, physical and financial elder abuse, wills, advance health care directives and more.

Program Information

CHHS interns may assist with a variety of activiities/projects based on interest and agency needs including: client intakes, assisting clients as legal advocates under the direction of the Executive Director, outreach and education to the community about LSS services and development work (events, fundraising, marketing, social media, etc.). Remote:
