Organization Description

Gateway Center is a non-profit, located in Pacific Grove, CA. We run a variety of day and residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our dedicated, professional staff provides a caring, supportive environment, which ensures that every individual we serve can live a full and rewarding life. All of our programs are designed around individualized, Person Centered Plans that promote Rights, Choices, and Opportunities for Growth. We provide a caring and stimulating environment where people with intellectual disabilities can achieve their individual goals, safely and with dignity.

Program Information

Gateway is a residential facility providing long-term care, assisted living and day program services for adults with developmental disabilities (both living at the center and also from the community.)

There are a variety of positions for students in Human Resource, Direct Care Staff, Administrative taks.

CHHS student will work with Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Director and with Day Program Director to assist with groups, recreation activities, and support services for clients & residents. CHHS student will be exposed to interdisciplinary professionals including nursing, speech therapy, nutrition, physical therapy and recreational therapy. Intern may also have opportunity to work with autistic clients at the center and/or assist with senior program in Salinas.

Still a work in progress. May include working to revise Individual Care Plans for our clients remotely, provide off-site program preparation/activities, assist in the development of volunteer program
