The Monterey Public Library is a welcoming community, cultural and learning center for people of all ages. Our collections and services inspire, educate and delight, preserve Monterey's memory and link the community with the knowledge and cultures of the world.

Our staff members encourage discovery, share the joy of reading and protect the right to know. The Monterey Public Library is the largest public library on the Monterey Peninsula, with an extensive collection of books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, Web services, microforms and unique historical collections.  The Library is a progressive, dynamic organization with a long tradition of innovative programming and a diverse range of community services.
