Program Information

Identifying and serving the adult learners of the community in basic skills and literacy development, second language acquisition, job training, parent and family education, serving adults with special needs and other classes. Our focus is on serving the underserved, especially immigrant and low-income communities.

Provide parent education training and support. Interview parents and professionals regarding educational needs. Develop a parent education web site for the county. Help parents and professionals develop coaching skills. Participate in evaluation of grant outcomes.

The Parent Center Family Garden is a shared space that includes a parent/child activity class for ages 2-5 offered each Friday. The Parent Center has recently been selected for the Wally Waste Not Award and needs to complete various activities that reduce waste and promote recycling between the Family Garden and Parent Center in order to receive the award.   The service learner(s) will help facilitate the activities in the garden class as well as help create the power point to submit to Salinas Valley Recycles. Training and ongoing support will be provided. 

Health & Safety

All students will be required to have a TB test and Fingerprinting, and show COVID-19 vaccination card, prior to starting their service hours.
