Organization Description

The Salvation Army meets the needs of the surrounding community, serving individuals and families - assisting with personal needs, hot meals, food boxes, transitional and emergency family housing, rental and utility assistance, senior gas vouchers, substance abuse counseling, spiritual and career counseling, and access to other agency services.

Program Information

Our Good Samaritan Center in Sand City is a "day center" that offers all the facilities of a functional shelter without overnight residents.We also provide low income clients with assistance to help alleviate financial stresses and serve as a pre-emptive measure against the loss of housing.

Our Family Housing Department offers two programs for families with children:

  • Emergency shelter for low-income homeless families, up to 90 days.
  • Short-term housing, up to 24 months, for families transitioning out of homelessness into independent living.
