Department of Multi Tiered Systems of Support- MPUSD

Organization Description

MPUSD is the largest school district on the peninsula serving children K-12.

All students must complete fingerprinting, TB tests and district orientation through Human Resources before starting the placement.

Program Information

This internship provides an opportunity to support the implementation of a drug prevention and intervention policy across a K–12 school district serving approximately 9,000 students.

The intern will assist with reviewing and analyzing data related to early implementation of the policy, helping identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.

The role will also include opportunities to interact with a range of stakeholders, including school staff, administrators, and student support teams, to gather feedback on how the policy is working in practice.

Through this work, the intern will help synthesize findings and contribute to recommendations that can help refine and strengthen the district’s prevention and intervention efforts.

This experience offers meaningful exposure to policy implementation, data-informed decision making, and collaborative problem-solving in a public education setting.

Interprofessional opportunities include ongoing collaboration with various school site staff, parents, administrators and community stakeholders.

Desired intern characteristics: Interested in the educational environment and able to work with both students and families regarding accessing services within the community. Willingness to provide some public speaking (i.e. classroom/staff presentations, parent presentations, etc.)
