Coalition of Homeless Service Providers

Organization Description

The Coalition of Homeless Service Providers coordinates homeless services in Monterey and San Benito Counties. Services provided includes managing a coordinated entry system, homeless management information system, and policy work.

Program Information

Activities may include: Contacting clients who are experiencing homelessness to verify that they are still in need of services. Completing CARS program assessments and referring clients to other service providers in the area. Inputting client data in the the Homeless Management Information System to track services provision. Analyzing client outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of the Coordinated Entry System.

CHHS intern(s) will assist in database reconciliation. This includes calling homeless clients to inquire on their housing status, updating their records in the database. This may include re-assessing the clients with a housing needs assessment to update their situation. Other support for special projects will be required as needed, mostly administrative in nature.

CHHS students will work with coordinated entry system by identifying, matching, and communicating with homeless persons to link them to available housing by working with all major homeless services providers and data bases while learning to report progress and outcomes. Interns will manage the Master List of homeless persons in Monterey and San Benito County by administrating vulnerability assessments and tracking their severity of need.

Collaborative activities such as inter-agency outreach and meetings and trainings, data management, resources and referrals, and policy overviews.
