Bureau of Land Management (BLM)

Organization Description

It is the mission of the Bureau of Land Management to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and employment of present and future generations.

Program Information

Students will be working on a number of projects, including but not limited to, removing invasive species, maintaining restoration sites, monitoring goat grazing activity, monitoring restoration sites, working on GIS or remote sensing projects, monitoring oak restoration on FONM, collecting seed, closing illegal recreation trails, collecting plant diversity data, conducting bunch-grass surveys as well as many more exciting opportunities. Health & Safety

Students will go through the following trainings:

  • Poison Oak
  • Ticks
  • Unexploded Ordinance Training (UXO)

 

**Students are required to wear long pants and long sleeve shirt**
