Departments include Health & Human Services, Information Services, Sheriff, Probation, District Attorney, Planning, Public Works, Parks, Elections, Personnel, Assessor, Auditor- Controller- Treasurer- Tax Collector, Agricultural Extension, County Administrative Office, and numerous others.

Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: Provide support to the administrative and direct service team of the Enhanced Care Management program. Activities may include client contact to assess need for care coordination services, data/information management, and general program support.

Desired Intern Characteristics: • Strong organizational skills • Independent worker with a self-starter attitude • Desire to make positive impacts and changes in the delivery of care for vulnerable populations • Good communication skills (written and oral) • Team player and contributor

Interprofessional opportunities available for the student: Interns will have opportunities to network and work in multidisciplinary environments and collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues throughout the County of Santa Cruz and the Health Services Agency. This includes participating in WPC - Cruz to Health Advisory Council and Workgroups, attending community coalition meetings, etc. Stakeholders and partners include County Health Clinics, Behavioral Health, Public Health, Community-based clinics, Community Hospitals, Homeless service providers, Community-based mental health and substance use providers.
