Under supervision of the Literacy Manager, students will help in each of the three areas we serve, Adult Literacy which is the one on one volunteer tutoring program- interns may assist with assessment, intake, and matching for tutors and learners.

Family Literacy encompasses the popular in-reach program providing current literacy students  with books for their children/local relatives under the age of ten. Interns will help with the preparation of kits and quarterly family programs held at libraries or partnering organizations.

Our most recent addition to literacy offerings are small group ESL Classes – Intern opportunities include planning and promoting classes, working with students and volunteer instructors on topics, dialogues and worksheets (previous topics include – going to the bank, doctor’s office, children’s school etc).

Additional projects include: drop in Citizenship help, tutor roundtables, regional network trainings/meetings, and more!
