Risks are minimal, and are primarily related to unexpected situations when visiting clients in their homes. Clients are enrolled in voluntary case management program and are required to follow and individualized care plan to reduce their risk for premature institutionalization. If there is a known risk, the student intern will either be accompanied of the visit is cancelled, depending on the situation.
Hand sanitizer and face masks are provided to all staff in case of communicable disease concern. Staff are advised to leave home immediately if anyone in the home presents as agitated or violent.
