Kinship is committed to the core belief that every child deserves a family.  Kinship Center provides the full spectrum of family-centered support to strengthen the families and communities we serve.  Services include adoption; foster care; children's mental health; relative caregiver support; adoption specialty wraparound; education and training, including production of training materials and curriculu, development.

Program Information

MOBILE RESPONSE TEAM (Salinas) (1st or 2nd Years)
Interns will provide same-day crisis intervention in teams of two in the community to youth facing immediate crisis in order to: prevent suicide, minimize psychiatric hospitalization, decrease police involvement, reduce the criminalization of mental health, and ensure families receive coordinated care and access to long-term services.

OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH INTERNSHIP (Salinas, Hollister, & Atascadero) (2nd Years)
Great opportunity to develop in skills providing family therapy/systems therapy 0-5 and to learn about attachment and trauma and its impact.

WRAPAROUND INTERNSHIP (Salinas & Atascadero)
Wraparound is a national model that allows intensive family focused work, lots of opportunities for creativity, clinical development as well as meeting facilitation and case management experience.

OTHER INTERNSHIPS (San Jose, Fremont, Hayward, and others)

Health & Safety

<p>Part of Seneca's onboarding training includes community safety training. All interns are issued cell phones. Interns need to be aware of their surroundings and use judgement before leaving their vehicle or entering a home when there is any question in their mind about their own safety.</p>
