California Killer Whale Project (CKWP) and Monterey Bay Whale Watch (MBWW)

Organization Description

Monterey Bay Whale Watch provides Marine Biologist led tours and promotes conservation and education of Monterey Bay and the world's oceans. We collect opportunistic data on all trips and share it with various nonprofit organizations.

Program Information

CKWP REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 40 HOURS OF SERVICE LEARNING, MORE THAN CSUMB'S REQUIREMENT.

This is to ensure students develop rapport with CKWP staff and are able to assist with data collection and entry over a longer period of time.  Whale watchinng trips take ~4 hours, plus an hour of data entry.
