Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is a nonprofit healthcare provider serving the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding communities. It has grown and evolved in direct response to the changing healthcare needs of the people it serves.

Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: Student will learn assessments, safe discharge planning, community resources, and billing.

Key Responsibilities: Scheduling meetings with families, taking notes for assessment, answering calls and learning processes within the agency.

Desired Intern Characteristics: Some medical knowledge, self-starter, organized, time management-able to meet deadlines, and interest in medical social work.

Interprofessional opportunities available for the student: Learn discharge planning and case management.

Student will participate in daily IDT meetings and learn about care conference meeting where student will have exposure to plans of care.
