Program Information NMCUSD Collaborative Health and Human Services Internship roles and responsibilities align to the District’s California Community Schools framework.
Intern will support a variety of aspects relating to student educational needs, physical and mental health, social services, and youth and community development.
Interns will work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams alongside counselors, principals, psychologists, therapists, and other educators collaborating to coordinate services for students and the community to address the community’s unique needs, assets, and aspirations.
Interns will support in strengthening services provided to students and the community by assisting with community outreach, researching resources and assisting in developing new partnerships in the community for long-term collective solutions. Interns will also support administrative work such as: data entry, surveying data and reporting, assisting with paperwork, preparing and executing community events, presentations, and workshops.
Empathy, patience, and creativity are desired intern characteristics, along with emotional maturity and awareness of cultures other than one's own.
Opportunity Training: Intern would be trained by District leadership and by attending meetings, reviewing policies and procedures, and collaborating with District staff and community partners. The training will include extensive hands-on experience.

Placement Dates and Times: Most hours can be completed Monday - Friday. Intern availability must be flexible to meet District needs; including evening and weekend availability.
