Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: Students supporting the Undocu-Success Center will assist in creating an environment where undocumented students and students from mixed status families know the available resources that exist for them through Cal State Monterey Bay and as a part of the greater CSU System. Such resources include immigration legal services, educational and social events, and direct support navigating their college experience. Whether a student intern is working with a peer one on one or staffing a site-specific event, they are expected to positively represent the Undocu-Success Center's mission of creating a welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Compile a resource guide for Undocu resources at CSUMB

Create spaces for the university to engage in conversations focusing on supporting undocumented students

Promote the UndocuAlly training

Lead in creating programs and services for undocumented students that focus on building community and belonging on campus Support management of the email account

Refer students seeking support to professional staff

Create flyers, manage social media, manage the MyRaft account

Engage campus on issues around the undocumented community, among other tasks as assigned

Desired Intern Characteristics: Strong inter-personal communication skills

Special Considerations: Ability to speak Spanish Outreach/customer service experience

Interprofessional opportunities available for the student: Support with other campus events centering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

Trainings/ staff meetings offered or required: Offered - Training on customer service, event planning, 1:1 support, and project management (Trello)
