Clinica Tepati

1820 J Street, Sacramento, 95811

Founded in 1974, Clínica Tepati set out to address the healthcare gap in the Latino community of the greater Sacramento area. Although there has been advancements in medical access and technology, this community remains socioeconomically disadvantaged and medically underserved. According to the 2009 California Health Interview Survey, 27.3% of Latinos in Sacramento County live at or below the Federal Poverty Line and 15.8% have no health insurance at all. In addition, 21.1% report not having a regular source of healthcare to turn to when ill or in need of health advice. Clínica Tepati remains committed to addressing the unmet needs of this community and other underserved communities by providing quality, primary healthcare at no cost to our patients.

CLTRE

3433 Broadway, Sacramento, 95817

CLTRE is a nonprofit organization that is committed to shifting the cultural landscape in Sacramento by year 2040. We do this through building culture, making culture, and keeping culture within culturally rich neighborhoods throughout the city. 100% of our donations go directly to fund programs and projects designed to develop the neighborhoods we live in, and the people who live within them. We believe CLTRE is the thread that connects individuals to their communities and to the past, present, and future. It is the lens through which they view the world and make sense of their experiences. This page was designed to center culture as a way of life, and showcase the core attributes that make CLTRE unique.

Coaching Corps

310 Eighth Street, Suite 300, Oakland, 94607

We change the game for kids in low-income communities who wouldn't get to experience the thrill of being on a team, the joy of overcoming a challenge or the many life lessons taught through sports with a great coach.

We are a corps of motivated college students and community members who serve as volunteer coaches, mentors and role models in afterschool sports programs serving girls and boys who live in some of our most under-resourced communities.

We exist to ensure that for all kids, the opportunity to run, play, learn, be coached and work with a team is a given – not a luxury. We are Coaching Corps and we are changing the game for the kids who need us most.

On the surface, what we do may look easy – we offer a full-season of sports programs for kids who normally wouldn’t get them.  We pair our volunteer coaches with a partner site; design drills, give high-fives and coach kids through wins and losses both on and off the field.

If you look deeper, we are more than just coaches.  We promote positive peer relationships, inspire leadership in kids and ensure the emotional and physical safety of all our athletes.  We know there is no life lesson that sports can’t teach … and we teach those lessons.

To date, over 6,500 of us have changed the game for over 75,000 kids.

Additionally, we offer our afterschool partners a range of crucial support, including training and consulting.

We are a community of advocates. Through our research and special initiatives, we raise awareness of the disparity in opportunity for populations most in need such as girls in low-income communities. And we educate policymakers and opinion leaders on the importance of ensuring that all kids have a chance to play – and experience the life-changing benefits of sports.

College Thread LLC DBA Greek House

712 Marine Street, Santa Monica, 90405

This is us. College kids at the University of Florida. With $500 and a simple goal to
make ordering custom apparel as simple as possible, we set out to change the
industry. From selling shirts out of our fraternity house to expanding nationally, we
haven't stopped since. In just a short time, we moved our headquarters to
Los Angeles, hired our best friends, and have become one of the fastest growing
startups in the world... The best part? We're just getting started.

No investors, no business plan, no idea what we were doing, but we wanted to
have fun and be great at doing it. We just knew creating custom apparel was a pain
in the ass and we set out to change that. We took everything day by day
and we listened to our customers and started building solutions to their problems.

We have designed three distinctive, highly structured programs run by skilled and dynamic outdoor educators who make it possible for teachers to have limited responsibilities during program. This gives classroom teachers the flexibility to float, observe, connect and enjoy watching their students learn in a new environment. Our programs can stand alone as a springboard to a new unit or the finale to complete a unit of study. Pre and post-trip activities are available to supplement curricular units.

Our overnight programs offer one to four day experiences in exploring and studying the following topics:

We service both public and private schools as well as other organizations and businesses throughout the state.
